Belated Gifts

Here is a small part of the treasure I brought back from India and it's for Claire who won the 'Treasure Hunt' contest in August. There are some authentic Indian fabrics, few sewing goodies and some other stuff like the small ethnic yellow bag and a cute top. Congratulations once again Claire! Voici une petite partie de trésor que j'ai ramené de l'Inde et c'est pour Claire qui avait gangné le concours 'Chasse au trésor' en aout. Le paquet cadeaux contient quelques tissues authentiques, petites accessoires de couture, un petit sac ethnique et un joli haut. Félicitations Claire encore une fois! It has been nearly a week that I am in India enjoying the ever shining sun and the warm welcome of family and friends. I spend very less time on internet as I am so busy doing nothing but I will keep my promise to announce the three winners. First of all I thank all of you for your lovely comments and support. I wish I could select all of you,I will keep on organising contests like this one. Now time for the winners, first winner is Saniya from Chicago who is always there to encourage me second is Clairette who dreams of going on this hunt herself and third is Tany a very creative couturiere. Congratulations! I have not started yet my hunt yet, hope to hop on my horse and move to forest (Cloth market) very soon. The festival of this month is the 'Ganesh Utsav'. It's the celebration of Ganesh's birthday the well wisher god that goes on for ten days in each house and each neighbourhood. It was made popular by Lokmanya Tilak a famous freedom fighter to reunite Indians during the British occupation. People of all the communities come together and enjoys this social gathering every evening through dance and song competitions, cultural programmes, music concerts etc. As a kid I liked a lot the day of 'Ganesh Utsav' when we used to have a film show on the street that was a great fun. Today also it is celebrated with great enthusiasm in western and central India. So Ganesh wishes you all the good luck in the world!

Ca fait prèsque une semaine que je suis en Inde en appréciant le soleil qui brille toujours et l'accueil chaleureux de la famille et les amis. Je passe très peu de temps sur l'nternet car je suis tellement occupé à ne rien faire mais je tiendrai ma promesse d'annoncer les trois gagnantes. Tout d'abord je vous remercie pour vos commentaires et votre soutien. Je aurais aimé sélectionner toutes , je vais continuer à organiser un concours comme celui-ci. C'est maintenant le temps pour les gagnantes, premier gagnante est la Saniya de Chicago, qui est toujours là pour m'encourager deuxième est Clairette qui rêve d'aller à cette chasse elle-même et Tany la troisième une couturiere avec beaucoup de talents. Félicitations! Je n'ai pas encore commencé ma chasse encore, j'espére de sauter sur mon cheval et d'aller à la forêt (marché de Tissu) très bientôt. Le festival de ce mois est le 'Ganesh Utsav ». Les gens de toutes les communautés se rassemblent et s'amusent tous les soirs en dansant en chantant, en regardant des programmes culturels, des concerts de musique, etc. J'aimais beaucoup le jour de 'Ganesh Utsav "quand il y'avait une projection de film dans la rue c'était cool! Il est célébré toujours avec beaucoup d'enthousiasme dans l'Inde occidentale et centrale. Ganesh vous souhaite bonne chance dans le monde!

I am leaving for India tomorrow for a month. India has a large textile manufacturing industry and I am going to take full profit of this speciality . My hunt is not limited to fabrics, India is a handicraft expert too so I will surely try to fill my bags with various cute little things like this red bag and handmade key-chains. Je pars demain pour l'Inde pour un mois . L'Inde a une grande industrie de fabrication de textiles, et je vais me profiter de cette spécialité de mon pays. Ma chasse ne se limite pas aux tissus, l'Inde est un expert de l'artisanat aussi alors je vais certainement essayer de remplir mes sacs avec des jolies choses comme ce sac rouge et les porte-clés fait à la main.
