Bag in the garden

It's summer and we have a garden. Isn't it perfect? So this marvellous combination inspired me to make a clutch purse. The flowers from our garden flew in to our appartment and went directly on the purse. Then I took it for a promenade in the small summer paradise where we had this photo session together. Flowers were so happy to be back to their home. :)

Spring is on its way/Printemps n'est pas loin

Yesterday I completed this bag that I made from my favourite Ikea fabric. I was waiting for this fabric since last year and few days ago suddenly it was available in the shop so I could not resist myself making a beautiful flowery spring bag. I will gift it to one of my friends for her birthday. I hope she will like it.

Hier j'ai terminé ce sac que j'ai fait avec mon tissu Ikea préféré. J'attendais ce tissu depuis plusieurs mois et tout à coup il était disponible dans le magasin alors je n'ai pas pu m'empêcher de faire un joli sac de printemps à fleur. Je vais l'offrir à une de mes amies pour son anniversaire. J'espère qu'elle va l'aimer.

Curvy Clutch

Hello everyone! Has any one visited the Better Homes & Gardens and tried a pattern? I would like to know if you made something and if you had some difficulties making it because that will help me too. I have not yet started working on flowery clutch but I completed a curvy clutch yesterday. I loved the feminine shape of this clutch that is why I was very eager to make it, the photos are here but I can not show you the inside as it gave me a sewing nightmare. The clutch is small so you can not put it around the machine arm and you have to sew inside the bag that is horrible because you can not reach the end of the edges, secondly the last finishing step is to close the front opening with Slip Stich with hand sewing that is quite tedious and it takes ages. The ladies who finish this clutch perfectly are either geniuses or I do not know how to sew or they have found some other method to put the lining and the flap. Please share with me too. :-(

Still I was happy to use the black lace that I brought from India it gave a magic touch to clutch.

Mother's day gift/ Cadeau de ma mère

I was not with my mom to celebrate the Mother's day but atleast I can gift the 'Birdie Sling' that I made specially for her. Handmade gifts are the best! I am very eager to see the look on her face when I will give it to her. I am satisfied with my work but not 100%. I had problems with putting the bands and the lining and finishing is not very good because I could not understand the instructions. Amy Butler patterns are well designed and the instructions are clear but not all, some are difficult to understand for a beginner. I have already made some bags so I knew some tricks to repair the mistakes I made but I will not advice this project to a beginner who is making her first bag, if you are with someone who can guide you then go ahead otherwise there are projects easier than this one. Anyway I am very very happy that I was able to finish it on time and I can give this lovely gift to my mom. I am going to announce a surprise tomorrow! Do not forget to check it out.

Je n'étais pas en Inde pour la Fête des mères, mais au moins je peux faire le cadeau de"Birdie Sling" à ma mère que j'ai fait spécialement pour elle. Les cadeaux 'Handmade' sont les meilleurs! Je suis très impatiente de voir l'expression sur son visage quand elle verra le sac. Je suis satisfait de mon travail, mais pas à 100%. J'ai eu des problèmes pour mettre les bandes et le doublure et la finition n'est pas très bonne non plus parce que je ne pouvais pas comprendre les instructions. Les patrons de Amy Butler sont bien conçus et les instructions sont claires mais pas toutes, pour une débutante certaines sont très difficiles à comprendre. J'ai déjà fait des sacs c'est pour quoi je connaissais quelques astuces pour réparer les erreurs que j'ai fait, mais je ne vais pas conseiller ce projet à un débutant qui fait son premier sac, si vous êtes avec quelqu'un qui peut vous guider allez-y! sinon il ya des projets plus facile que celle-ci. De toute façon, je suis très heureuse d'avoir pu le terminer et que je puisse donner ce beau cadeau à ma mère. Je vais annoncer une surprise demain! Alors à demain!

End & Beginning / Fin & Début

Finally I was able to finish my small messenger bag that is also my gift to one my friends in India. I am sure she will be very happy to be owner of this cutie colorful little bag. She drives a small scooter so that will be very easy for her to carry it when she is riding her horse on wild Indian roads. No, she does not live in a forest but traffic is wild on city roads. You have to be very brave to drive there. I have also chosen the fabric for the Birdie sling and started working on it. The combination is quite classic a white-black Ikea fabric with black handles. Wish me luck! I don't know if I will be able to finish it before we leave.

Enfin, j'ai pu finir mon petit sac qui est aussi mon cadeau pour l'une de mes copines en Inde. Je suis sûr qu'elle sera très heureuse d'avoir ce mignon petit sac très coloré. Elle conduit un petit scooter et ce sera très facile pour elle de le porter quand elle monte son cheval sur les routes sauvages indiennes. Non, elle n'habite pas dans une forêt, mais la circulation est sauvage sur les rues des villes. Il faut être très courageux pour conduire là-bas. J'ai aussi choisi le tissu pour le Birdie Sling et j'ai déjà commencé travailler sur celui-ci. La combinaison est assez classique un blanc-noir tissu Ikea avec poignées noires. Souhaitez-moi bonne chance! Je ne sais pas si je le finirai avant de partir.

Projects

I bought some handbag patterns few days ago, Amy Butler's Birdie Sling ,Grand Revival's Flea Market bag and Indygo Junction's Grommet grab bag . I was a bit disappointed with Grommet Grab because when you open the packet you get a list of instructions and a big paper of a simple design. That's all! No detail and clear explanations with drawings. Quite difficult for a beginner. Amy Butler made me happy when I saw her very professional but simultaneously very simple pattern with crystal clear step by step guide. Birdie sling is my favorite and I am very eager to make it but...... yes we have finished painting the room and waiting for the smell to fade so that we can move the furniture back. I have to wait still there is little more place to work peacefully without stumbling in to anything.

J'ai acheté quelque patrons de sacs à main. Birdie Sling d'Amy Butler , Flea Market bag de Grand Revival et Grommet grab bag d'Indygo Junction. J'ai été un peu déçu avec Grommet Grab parce que quand l'on ouvre le paquet, On a une liste d'instructions et un grand papier avec un simple dessin. C'est tout! Aucun détail ni des explications claires avec des dessins. Assez difficile pour un débutant. Amy Butler m'a fait plaisir quand j'ai vu son très professionnel, mais en même temps très simple patron guide étape par étape. Birdie Sling est mon préféré et je suis très impatient d'en faire, mais ...... oui, nous avons fini la peinture de la chambre et On attend que l'odeur disparaît pour déplacer les meubles. Je dois attendre encore qu'il y a un peu plus de place pour travailler en paix.

Coming up! / Prochainement

I spent last week-end and a part of this week meeting nearly a thousand compatriots, a new friend who is also an Indian and preparing for a job interview. So obiviously very few time for sewing and cutting but that was exceptional. I have already started working on this bag since a while. The fabric I chose is my favorite in all the Ikea collection, very colorful and full of pretty designs. All the things that fill you with joy when you see them, birds, flowers and butterflies. Very summery! I don't think I 'll able to finish it this week-end but I promise I'll post the pictures as soon as this cheery bag is done. Happy week-end to every one!

J'ai passé le week-end dernier et une partie de cette semaine rencontrer près d'un millier de compatriotes, une nouvelle ami qui est aussi Indienne et en préparant un entretien. Alors très peu de temps pour la couture mais c'est exceptionnel. J'ai commencé travailler sur ce sac depuis un moment. Le tissu que j'ai choisi est mon favori dans toute la collection d'Ikea, très coloré et plein de jolis dessins. Toutes les choses qui vous comble de joie quand vous les voyez, les oiseaux, les fleurs et les papillons. Très estivale! Je ne pense pas que je peux le terminer ce week-end mais je vous promets, je mettrai les photos dès que ce sac est fini. Bon week-end à tous!

Green bag

I am so happy today that I finished all my pending projects. Thanks to my new sewing machine!Yes! finally I bought one and the green bag is her first creation. If anyone of you saw Yann Arthus-Bertand's 'Home' then this bag is a symbol of the film. Use cotton bags not plastic bags.

I ve already cut the fabric for two small handbags but as I dont ve the sewing machine I ve to wait some more time that these pieces of simple but colorful fabric take the form of a lovely bag. May be I ll try to go next week to my mother-in-law's place who has got a machine. Any unfinished work makes me conscious and uncomfortable still I vent lost my enthusiasm and determination to make these bags. :-) There are some "Before n after"(when I ll finish sewing ;-) )photos of these wannabe bags. I will send one of the patterns to the best commentator
